Tynemouth Pier Lighthouse at Sunrise – Box Frame – Ceramic Tile – Gift
Work on Tynemouth Pier began in 1854 to shelter the mouth of the River Tyne and make shipping safer. The pier was completed in 1895, almost destroyed by a huge storm two years later, and rebuilt in 1909 under engineer John Wolfe Barry. This photograph captures the lighthouse with the rising sun glowing through its lantern above the North Sea.
One 11 × 11 inch (28.4 × 28.4 cm) solid white wood box frame, 20 mm wide and 33 mm deep, supplied with a white mount and glass. The frame can be wall mounted or displayed freestanding using the strut on the back.
The 8 × 8 inch ceramic tile in the centre appears to float above the background and is mounted 10 mm from the white backing board.
The item will arrive securely packaged for safe delivery.
