About North East Captures

I’m Michael Walker, the photographer behind North East Captures. I photograph the landscapes, landmarks, coastlines and cities of North East England, creating prints that help people reconnect with places that matter to them.

Photography became my profession after more than a decade working in IT. Facing redundancy, I retrained in Commercial Photographic Practice at Newcastle College before working alongside established photographers in London and managing a studio in Camden.

After four years in London, I returned to the North East and began building the collection that became North East Captures. Every image is photographed by me and carefully edited to remain faithful to the original scene. None of my photographs is AI generated.

My work covers Newcastle, Gateshead, Northumberland, Durham, Sunderland, Tyneside, Teesside and locations across the wider region. Prints are produced with care, with mounted and solid-wood framed options available.
