Roker Pier Lighthouse – Box Frame – Ceramic Tile – Gift
Roker Pier and its red-and-grey granite lighthouse opened in 1903, helping protect the entrance to Sunderland's harbour. The long breakwater remains an enduring symbol of the city's maritime history. The curved railings lead towards the lighthouse under a bright sky dotted with clouds.
One 11 × 11 inch (28.4 × 28.4 cm) solid white wood box frame, 20 mm wide and 33 mm deep, supplied with a white mount and glass. The frame can be wall mounted or displayed freestanding using the strut on the back.
The 8 × 8 inch ceramic tile in the centre appears to float above the background and is mounted 10 mm from the white backing board.
