King Edwards Bay - Tynemouth Pier - Sunrise - Tynemouth
King Edward's Bay is a hidden gem, tucked away on the north side of Tynemouth Priory. This small beach is sheltered by cliffs on three sides, making it a secluded spot that's perfect for those who want to escape the crowds. To get there, you can take the easy route via the stairways or, if you're feeling adventurous and know your way around the tides, you can scramble over the rocks around the north or south promontories. The nearby Tynemouth Priory, perched on a rocky headland, offers breathtaking views of the pier and is steeped in history, with the remains of a moated castle and a Benedictine priory where ancient kings of Northumbria were laid to rest.
